Project Status Update

Can you tell from the title that I work in the corporate world?

My goal is to host the game in the Spring and have the rules pretty much nailed down by the end of the year (minus some play testing and balancing). As I write this, in mid-October, I’d guess I’m sitting at about 90% design completion. I’m missing a handful of UN events, another night working on the Aliens (third act & tech tree), balancing the science game and another pass over every written rule to ensure consistency.

Over the past week, I’ve been balancing and finishing up the graphic design on some of the boards and trackers. Of course, much of those will be a work in progress well into the new year as the trackers require the game to be fully balanced so I wont be able to print anything off for a while.

The other day, I put in a request with my first-choice venue to reserve the room which makes it feel much more real knowing that application is in!

And today, I’ve been working on the components checklist - what goes to every member of control and what does each player get. The list of stuff I’ll need is huge! Thankfully, I’ve been recording things I’ll need as I’ve been going along. For example, I’d be writing the rules for the UN events and I’d add to my list that I’d need rioters, UN aid tokens, UN forces, alliance trackers etc.
