Second pass at… United Nations
I don’t want these entries to come across like this is all I’m doing! Whenever I get a thought in my head about something, I’ll go tweak a document, or add something to my planner document about something I’m missing, or new tokens that I’ll need etc. These entries are just broad brush strokes. Anyway, back to it…
The second pass at the UN was to quickly run through the rules again. We clarified declaring War, talked through the chair rules and just did some tidying up. Most of the evening was spent going through the events.
We mapped out the titles on a whiteboard and outlined what we thought it might take to solve the crisis. We then added what the repercussions might be if you didn’t solve, or partially solved it. We also updated some of the locations to have impacts on player Nations or to make them more relevant to this day and age (I’d guess that the original event descriptions were written 10 years ago and hadn’t aged particularly well). We particularly liked the idea of having new events that cropped up as a result of a decision they made in the previous turn: e.g. You supported the rebels, now the new government collapses, or there are more terrorist activities etc. We probably got 70% of the way through this task. The rest will have to wait.
